Atlantic Dunes at Sea Pines

OPENING IN OCTOBER 2016 - Atlantic Dunes in Sea Pines is Hilton Head’s first golf course (formerly known as the Ocean Course). It is in the final stages of being completely recreated and reconstructed by Davis Love III. The course, originally built by George Cobb in 1962 and overhauled by Mark McCumber in 1995,  is challenging but playable with the first four holes starting with strategically placed water hazards. It has been redesigned with "more of a sand and water motif" taking advantage of the natural elements of the area with sandy waste areas, native grasses, and bunkers with planks built into them.

Among the other enjoyable features is the breathtaking par 3 #15 hole that carries up the beach and gives golfers a wonderful panoramic view of the Atlantic ocean while they putt. With only two oceanfront holes on the entire island, it is truly special.

The course is challenging for the scratch golfers with strategically placed bunkers and lagoons, yet it is still very enjoyable for the novice players with high handicaps. Being a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary course, players are sure to also enjoy viewing some of the abundant lowcountry wildlife. Heritage Tees: 6,906 yards; 72.8 rating; 133 slope; par 72.
